How can my kids join tournaments?
Only members of Infinity BA can join official and club internal tournaments.
The head coach and assistant coaches will constantly review the players’ skills and capabilities. When a player is deemed ready for competition, he and/or his parents will be informed.
With club internal competitions Infinity BA offers its members a chance to get familiar with the rules and to gain experience for official tournaments. It is also a good chance for coaches to review the performance level of the players.
How to find information about upcoming tournaments?
How to enter a tournament?
To enter a tournament, a player must be affiliated to a badminton club. Infinity BA club members can use their club’s registration number to make an account via
www.tournamentsoftware.com.
The majority of the tournaments are individual entry. The players manage their own tournament entry using the tournament software. For team tournaments, further instructions will be given by the club.
What are the tournament rules regarding age group?
Badminton Victoria is using the end of the year date for all individual tournaments. A player needs to be below the age group limit on the year the competition is being played. The day of birth does not affect a player's age grouping.
For example:
- In 2022, players who were born in 2011 will need to play under 13 age groups
- In 2022, players who were born in 2009 will need to play under 15 age groups
- In 2022, players who were born in 2007 will need to play under 17 age groups
- In 2022: players who were born in 2004 will be their last year to play under 19 age groups
How to get into the state squad / state team?
In order to get into the Victorian State Team, a player needs to first be selected into the Badminton Victoria State Squad and then from there selected into the Victorian State Team.
In order to be selected as a member of the State Squad, a player needs to play Badminton Victoria selection tournaments and based on his results Badminton Victoria selectors will decide whether or not the player will be selected for the State Squad.
How to get into Badminton Australia National Falcons?
Players will be selected by Badminton Australia Selectors to get into the NDP (National Development Program for Juniors between 14-23 years of age) and the National Senior Program. For more information, please contact Infinity BA directly.
